Power of Millennials Upcoming Events & Projects
School Expansion Project at Christ Vision Academy in Accra, Ghana | 2024Power of Millennials was started by a family that has always believed in giving back together. During our second visit to Ghana in January of 2024, we met with the director/headmaster of Christ Vision Academy, a school with 234 students ages 2-14. We decided to commence a project where we are rebuilding and expanding the entire school, and we are creating a second story level to allow the school to have more classrooms. The teachers and staff are doing an excellent job of educating these students, but the school's director expressed a great desire to accept more students. Free public education is not easily accessible for children in this community, so the school unfortunately has had to turn away some students due to their lack of space and resources. We met some of the students in June, 2024, and we were able to witness firsthand how necessary and life-changing the education they receive is for themselves and their families; therefore, we decided to help this community for generations to come by giving more children access to a quality education. We commenced construction once the kids were out of school in late 2024. We started by building a new foundation around the existing structure, so the new first story would be larger, and support a second story level. We had to pause construction for classes to resume, but once they had a break, we resumed by tearing down the original school. We built a new foundation and structure around the original school to connect it to the expansion. Once this was complete, we began working on the roofing so the students could still resume classes once it was time for them to return. Once the roofing was complete and classes resumed, they began working on building the stairs that lead to what will become the second story. Most recently, we have painted a few of the classrooms, installed doors and bars on the windows, and we are working on the electrical wiring (something the school did not have before). Since then, we are almost finished completing the first level. We still have to build the second level which will be the portion of the project that expands the school and allows them to accept over 200 more students. This is one ongoing projects for 2025, and we appreciate any support or donations you can provide us. Below you can see videos displaying how the school looked during our second visit, and the second video below that will reveal how much progress has been made. Thank you in advance for your support.
"A Christmas Experience," on December 19th, 2025 4pm-8pm in Snellville, GA (Metro Atlanta)
This will be our 5th annual holiday event called, "A Christmas Experience," where we provide an unforgettable holiday experience to children ages 0-17 in the Metro Atlanta community. Every year, we aim to host an event where children can play amongst their peers, win new toys and prizes to take home, eat good food and enjoy refreshments with their families, and leave the event filled with the holiday cheers and new gifts to take home. Our event features a visit from Santa, a bouncy house, face painting, food, beverages, a gift for every child, games and giveaways throughout the event, and more. We will release more information about the event closer to the date, such as the link where you can RSVP. We are looking forward to hosting this event for the 5th year in the row, and we can't wait to see everyone there.
